Exchanger Mills

These Lightweight Exchanger Mills were built with the end user in mind. Designed to machine pass partitions and pass grooves on tube heat exchangers, with the ultimate goal of reducing weight, without sacrificing performance. The precision ball rails used in the design produce a very smooth and efficient travel on the spindle slide and on the mill base. Pneumatic motors are used to drive the spindle and linear feed which allows the mills to be used in more applications. Because of their lightweight design, these mills can be easily installed into position. Except for rare instances, such as placing the mill upside down, etc. these mills can be safely hand lifted into place by two technicians.

The reduced weight design allows these machines to be set up and aligned much easier than the heavier fly cutting mills commonly used for exchanger application. The jobs become easier on the technicians doing the work, and can be completed faster, safer, and more cost effectively. Lifting cables are provided for those instances when working on elevated jobs or when unusual mounting positions occur.

These mills are available in sizes of 3.5 feet (42 inch), 4 feet (48 inch), 6 feet (72 inch) and 8 feet (96 inch). With the exception of the “user supplied end mills”, every mill comes complete with all the necessary tools to do the job, which includes: collets to hold end mill shanks from 3/8 inch thru 1 inch in 1/8 inch increments; key stock used to shim underneath the mill for mounting; air hose and oiler with control valve; ergonomic lifting handles; a 1/2 inch – 13NC toe clamp set used for mounting; and an enclosed shipping crate.
